For IT, SAP, HRIS & Payroll Teams: Benefits That Run in Your Landscape, Not Behind a File
No middleware, no nightly extract, no second login. Benefits Reimagined is built on SAP Business Technology Platform and AWS, reads SuccessFactors through SAP’s own connections and events, brings Workday, UKG, ADP, Dayforce, Paycom or any other HRIS onto the same control plane, posts deductions to SAP ECP or any 3rd-party payroll, decides access by screen and by record, and moves through your transport and upgrade discipline.
Every benefits vendor an IT team evaluates brings its own stack: an integration layer someone has to license and watch, a user store that drifts from the HRIS, a separate connection for every payroll, and a change process that is theirs, not yours. Benefits Reimagined was built to be one more application in your landscape — the same login, the same event framework, the same transports, listed on SAP Store for SAP teams and ready for every other HRIS and payroll team through one control plane — API-native and AI-native, with a lane for every system you run.
What You’re Asked to Own When HR Buys Benefits Software
“HR chose the tool. We got the middleware, the login project, the nightly job that fails on holidays, the second user store, a deduction file per payroll, a different connector for the entity on Workday, and a vendor release cycle that lands in the middle of our upgrade.” That is the IT side of most benefits implementations — for SAP teams, HRIS teams and payroll teams alike — and none of it is the vendor’s product.
A layer you own
An integration flow or a third-party tool between your HRIS — SuccessFactors, Workday, UKG or any other — and the benefits vendor: licensed, monitored, patched, blamed.
A file per payroll
SAP ECP for one entity, ADP or Dayforce for another: one deduction format each, one catch-up to key by hand each, one place each for a correction to go wrong.
A second user store, their release cycle
A separate login, permissions maintained twice, configuration changed in production, vendor upgrades on their calendar, nothing in your transport path.
Four Things That Change for SAP, HRIS and Payroll Teams
The architecture, in the order an IT team asks about it: runtime, integration for every HRIS and payroll, identity, and lifecycle — each linking to the page with the detail.
Runs on SAP BTP and AWS, beside whichever HRIS you run
Benefits Reimagined is a BTP application, deployed on SAP BTP and AWS. For SAP teams it reads Employee Central through SAP’s own connections and event framework, so an HR event changes the benefits record as it happens. For HRIS teams on Workday, UKG, ADP, Dayforce, Paycom or any other system, the same control plane loads on schedule and on events where the source supports them, with IntelliMap proposing the field mapping and a person approving it. There is no middleware component to license or operate — one AI-native, multi-tenant codebase; every capability a connection before it is a screen.
Every payroll on its own lane; results back
For payroll teams, elections become deductions on the next run of whichever payroll each entity uses — SAP ECP for one, ADP, Workday, UKG, Dayforce or Paycom for another — by wage type or deduction code on the same rules. Results come back so what was taken is reconciled against what was elected and feeds the ACA engine; BR ReVerge, 360-degree Payroll, posts retroactive corrections to every payroll an entity runs, approved once in Workflow. Employer and employee shares are never blended.
One login; access decided by screen and by record
Employees open benefits from SuccessFactors — or from any identity provider your HRIS team already runs — with the same login on web and mobile. Security & Access Control models people → groups → roles, decides which screens a group can see and whose records it can see as two separate questions, routes approval-required groups through Workflow, allows direct, override and emergency access with dates, and keeps a permanent history of every change and every allow or block decision.
Change moves through transports; upgrades land on your calendar
Configuration — plans, rules, workflows, content, compliance settings — is versioned and moved DEV to TEST to PROD through transport management with approvals logged in Workflow. Platform releases arrive through the upgrade center with release notes and opt-in features, scheduled around your SuccessFactors, Workday or UKG release cycle, not across it. Carrier eligibility leaves on 834 per lane with acknowledgements stored; every lane keeps its event trace and its holds, with reasons, for your monitoring.

Six moments in an IT team’s year — SAP, HRIS or payroll — and what changes when the benefits platform runs in your landscape.
| Moment | The way it usually goes | Benefits Reimagined |
|---|---|---|
| The HRIS integration | A middleware flow someone licenses and watches. | SAP connections and events for SuccessFactors; IntelliMap-mapped lanes for Workday, UKG, ADP, Dayforce, Paycom or any HRIS — nothing to license. |
| Payroll | A deduction file per payroll, built by an integrator. | One lane per payroll — SAP ECP or any 3rd-party — on the same rules, results returned. |
| Login | A second user store and password. | One login through SuccessFactors or any identity provider, web and mobile. |
| Permissions | Maintained twice; drift between the two. | Groups decide screens and records separately, with approval-required groups and a permanent history. |
| A configuration change | Made in production by the vendor. | Transported DEV → TEST → PROD, approved in Workflow, logged. |
| A release | On the vendor’s calendar, mid-upgrade. | Through the upgrade center, opt-in features, scheduled around your HRIS cycle. |
What Changes for IT, SAP, HRIS and Payroll Teams
Connections you already have
SAP’s own connections and events for SuccessFactors; IntelliMap-mapped lanes for any other HRIS; SAP BTP and AWS as the runtime.
One login, access by screen and record
SuccessFactors or any identity provider; which screens and whose records decided separately; every allow or block decision kept.
One lane per payroll
SAP ECP or any 3rd-party payroll on the same rules, with results returned and retros posted to every lane.
Transports with approvals
DEV to TEST to PROD, versioned, logged — your discipline, not the vendor’s.
Upgrade center on yours
Release notes, opt-in features, scheduled around the SuccessFactors, Workday or UKG cycle.
Controls and evidence built in
Compliance checks and evidence built in, privacy by design, an audit trail per action; formal certification is planned and stated as such.
Ask Where a Record Is Before HR Asks You
The integration workspace has Athena for Admins. It reads every lane’s events, holds and acknowledgements — the SuccessFactors lane, the Workday or UKG lane, every payroll lane — explains why a record stopped and where the fix belongs, and drafts the off-cycle send or the source-system request. A person approves it; Athena never sends a file or claims to have re-run a lane.
- “Why hasn’t this termination reached the carrier?” — the HRIS event, the coverage-end rule and the next 834 cut, with an off-cycle send offered
- “Did the plant’s deductions post to ADP, and HQ’s to SAP ECP?” — each lane, each run, the results returned and any unmatched line
- “What is held from the Workday lane and why?” — the records, the missing field and the owner in Workday
- “Who can transmit an ACA run?” — the groups, the screens and records they can reach, and the last three transmissions
